Hi, I have a digital clock radio with a 2" 0.5 watt, 8 ohm speaker. The issue is the digital radio volume at the lowest setting is too loud. I am considering replacing the speaker with a lower wattage speaker, say 0.2 watts. I know very little about how circuit boards work. Which of the two scenarios is likely after replacement: A. The smaller speaker pulls 0.2 watts max, resulting in lower current pushed to the speaker, or... B. The circuit board continues to push enough current to power a 0.5W speaker, creating issues for the smaller wattage speaker. In this case, would I need to install a capacitor as an additional step to reduce current to the lower-power speaker? Please help. I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
